One in five Americans struggle with mental health issues. 2020 has challenged and changed every one and every thing about daily life. ‘Covid Fatigue’ is real and widespread. And it’s not over yet. It is the rare individual who can keep their head on straight in the midst of a divorce, let alone a global pandemic. Coming up with a solid game plan may require the help of a professional.
Stress during times of upheaval is inevitable, even if it’s not apparent in every family member. Talk therapy, cognitive behavorial therapy or spiritual guidance may be the best investment you can make in yourself (and your child).
Finding a qualified therapist is like shopping for comfortable shoes; you’re looking for a good fit; the right personality, temperment, brand of wisdom, even gender. Personalities that mesh for one person may not be an ideal match for others. It’s reasonable to interview more than one counselor, just as you would interview any other type of professional (attorney, accountant, plumber, etc).
If you have questions or concerns about counseling, we can assist you. Call our office if you need help finding a qualified mental health professional (386) 257-4699. On this list are professionals we have worked with who practice a range of specialties.

What to watcH NOW: SPLIT
A film for kids of divorce (and their parents)
http://www.splitfilm.org
SPLIT is a deeply personal film that explores the effects of divorce on children. The film features twelve children, aged 6-12, who explore the often frightening and always life altering separation of their parents.
SPLIT gives us the children's perspective on divorce .. no adults, no experts .. just kids speaking the powerful truth of what is on their minds and in their hearts. Their wisdom, candor, and humor will give courage to other children, and encourage parents to make better choices as they move through divorce.
Don’t pray to get things. Pray to be worthy of getting things.
